From chapter 1, "Better, But Numb". Every guide is written like a story, with real research behind it.
Thursday, 9:20pm. The Car Park Sessions. Bolu arrives. He looks better than he has in months. He is also frowning.
Bolu sat down, and several men noticed immediately. He looked rested. He looked lighter. He even laughed at one of Dapo's jokes, which was a first.
"The tablets are working," he said. "For the first time in months, I do not wake up dreading the day. I enjoy Ife. I stopped snapping at Temi. I feel like myself again."
"That is brilliant, Bolu," said Jide.
"But," said Bolu, lowering his voice, "downstairs, things feel... numb. It takes forever to finish. Sometimes I cannot finish at all. And I do not really feel like it much anymore. I read online that this is from the tablets. So I am thinking of just stopping them."
The car park went quiet. Big Emeka, who had been through exactly this, stood up.
"Bolu. Do not stop your tablets. I nearly did. Let me tell you what I learned."
