From chapter 1, "The Hormone Party". Every guide is written like a story, with real research behind it.
Saturday, 7:00pm. Jide's flat. A "hormone party." Tolu made name tags. Everyone must wear one.
Tolu had come up with the idea after a long shift. "People understand hormones better if you make them characters," she said, handing out sticky name tags. Amara was OESTROGEN. Emeka was TESTOSTERONE. Kemi was PROLACTIN. Jide, to his horror, was CORTISOL.
"Why am I cortisol?" he protested.
"Because you are the stress hormone, and you have been stressed since 2019."
"Here is the important thing," Tolu said. "Desire is not controlled by one hormone. It is a party. Some guests turn the music up. Some turn it down. And the room, meaning your mood, relationship and health, matters as much as the guest list."
