Read the opening

From chapter 1, "The Coach's Confession". Every guide is written like a story, with real research behind it.

Thursday, 9:00pm. The Car Park Sessions. Thirty men. Jide puts down the whiteboard marker.

For a year and a half, Jide had stood by the whiteboard every Thursday, explaining, joking, drawing bad diagrams. Tonight, he did not pick up the marker. He sat on the bonnet of his car and looked at the men around him.

"I want to tell you something," he said. "The reason I started all this. The reason I understand what many of you are going through."

The car park went quiet.

"About two years ago, one night with Tolu, I lost my erection. Just once. I was tired, stressed, I had had a couple of drinks. It happens. But I panicked. And the next time, I was so scared it would happen again that... it happened again. And again. I started avoiding sex. Making excuses. Working late. Scrolling until 1am. Tolu thought I did not want her. I did want her. I was terrified."

Nobody moved. Somewhere, a car alarm went off and stopped.

"That is performance anxiety," Jide said. "And I want to tell you how I got out of it."

AmaraHow did it go?
JideI told them everything.
AmaraEverything?
JideThe avoiding. The excuses. The fear. Tolu thinking I did not want her.
AmaraAnd?
JideDapo hugged me. Then Chidi. Then Obinna. Then basically the whole car park. It was a thirty-man hug, Amara.
AmaraI am crying.
JideI am still crying.
