From chapter 1, "The Silence". Every guide is written like a story, with real research behind it.
Friday, 8:00pm. A restaurant. Kemi and her boyfriend Seyi. Amara and Emeka at the next table, "accidentally."
Kemi had asked Amara to sit nearby "for courage." Amara had agreed, then dragged Emeka along, and now they were pretending to read menus while listening very hard.
Kemi and Seyi had been together two years. He was a quiet architect who drew buildings on napkins. She loved him. And they had never, not once, talked about sex. Not what they liked. Not what they did not. Not what they wished for.
"Seyi," Kemi said, fiddling with her fork. "Can we talk about... us? In bed?"
Seyi's napkin drawing froze halfway through a staircase. "Is something wrong?"
"No! Nothing wrong. I just... I want us to be able to talk about it."
He looked at her for a long time. Then he said, very quietly, "I have wanted to talk about it for two years. I did not know how to start."
At the next table, Amara squeezed Emeka's hand so hard he yelped.
